Frequently Asked Questions
General
How do I know which treatment I need?
Book a consultation — we'll examine your teeth, discuss your goals, and recommend a plan personalized to you, not a generic package.
Do you treat both adults and children?
Yes — general, cosmetic, and restorative care for adults, plus dedicated pediatric dentistry for kids.
What languages does your team speak?
Our team is bilingual, and the practice is set up to support international patients specifically.
Are the before & after photos real patients?
Yes — every case in our gallery is a real Vienna Dental Clinic patient, published with their consent, along with the treating doctor and the treatment timeline.

New Patients
How long is my first visit?
Plan for about 45–60 minutes for a full exam, cleaning, and any needed X-rays or scans.
Can I bring my child to my own appointment?
Yes — though arranging childcare if possible makes it easier for our team to give you full attention. Let us know ahead of time either way.
Do you accept walk-ins?
We recommend booking ahead, especially for a first visit. For actual dental emergencies, call ahead and we'll do our best to fit you in the same day.
What if I'm nervous about the dentist?
Completely normal, and worth mentioning when you book — we can talk through options like numbing gel before injections, or explaining each step before we do it.
Insurance & Financing
Do you accept my specific insurance?
The clinic doesn't accept insurance directly at this time.
Can I pay in installments?
Yes — through our third-party financing partners (Souhoola, ValU, and Aman), rather than directly through the clinic.
Does Vienna Dental Clinic accept dental insurance?
We are currently finalizing agreements with selected insurance providers, companies, and professional syndicates — this part is in progress. Contact us before your visit to check the current status of your coverage; once active, our team will help verify eligibility and explain what your plan covers.
Reviewed by Dr. Amr Yasser
Are the listed prices final?
The price list reflects our standard rates per service. Prices may vary based on individual case complexity — your final quote is confirmed after the diagnostic examination, with no hidden fees.
Reviewed by Dr. Amr Yasser
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, credit and debit cards, and mobile wallets, and installments are available through Egyptian financing providers. See Insurance & Financing for details.
Reviewed by Dr. Amr Yasser
Is there interest or a down payment on installment plans?
That depends on the financing provider and the repayment period you choose — some plans are interest-free, others carry a cost the longer you spread payments. Down payment and approval time are set by the provider at the time of your application.
Reviewed by Dr. Amr Yasser
Can treatment begin before full payment?
In most cases, yes — once your financing provider approves your plan, or you've settled payment upfront, we can move ahead with treatment. We'll confirm the specifics for your treatment plan at consultation.

Treatments
General Dentistry
View Services →How often should I get a dental cleaning?
Most patients should have a checkup and cleaning every six months, though your dentist may recommend more frequent visits if you're prone to gum disease or cavities.
Does getting a filling hurt?
No — the area is fully numbed with local anesthesia first. Mild sensitivity for a day or two afterward is normal.
What are the signs I might need a root canal?
Persistent tooth pain, lingering sensitivity to hot/cold, swollen or tender gums, or a tooth that's darkening.
Reviewed by Dr. Amr Yasser
Does a root canal hurt?
Not during the procedure — local anesthesia keeps you comfortable. Some soreness for a few days afterward is normal.
Reviewed by Dr. Amr Yasser
How long does a root canal take?
Most appointments take 30–60 minutes; complex molars with multiple canals may take 60–90 minutes or need more than one visit.
Will I need a crown after a root canal?
In most cases, yes — a treated tooth becomes more brittle and a crown protects it.
Cosmetic Dentistry
View Services →Does teeth whitening damage enamel?
No — professional whitening, done correctly, doesn't damage healthy enamel. Temporary sensitivity for a day or two is possible.
How long do veneers last?
Porcelain veneers typically last 10–15+ years; composite veneers usually last 5–7 years.
Can I get a Hollywood Smile without shaving my teeth?
In some cases, yes — depends on your teeth's current position and shape.
Is a Hollywood Smile permanent?
Not in the sense of never changing again — porcelain veneers last 10–15+ years, but it's a long-term commitment, not a one-time fix.
What's the difference between veneers and a Hollywood Smile?
"Veneers" are the individual shells; "Hollywood Smile" is the branded term for a full makeover using veneers across the visible front teeth.
What are the downsides of a Hollywood Smile?
Most techniques require some irreversible enamel removal, it's an investment that eventually needs replacement, and getting the shade/shape wrong the first time can mean a redo.
What is the difference between composite and ceramic veneers?
Composite veneers (3,000 EGP per tooth) are applied in a single visit and are easy to repair. Ceramic/porcelain veneers (7,000 EGP per tooth) are lab-crafted, more stain-resistant, and typically last 10–15 years.

How do you design my new smile?
We use Digital Smile Design: photos and 3D scans of your face and teeth let you preview your final smile on screen — and approve it — before any treatment begins.

Oral Surgery & Implants
View Services →How long do dental implants last?
With proper care, 15–25+ years, and many patients keep them for life.
Reviewed by Dr. Ahmed Khaled
Which is better — an implant or a bridge?
Implants generally last longer and preserve jawbone health better but cost more upfront; a bridge is faster and less expensive but doesn't prevent bone loss. Depends on your case.
What is the average cost of dental implants?
15,000 EGP (Korean) to 18,000 EGP (Swiss), depending on the implant system used — confirmed during your consultation.
Are dental implants safe for people with diabetes?
Yes, in most cases — well-controlled diabetes doesn't rule you out, though healing may take slightly longer. Not a diagnosis for your specific situation.
Reviewed by Dr. Ahmed Khaled
Can dental implants be done in one day?
For select cases with sufficient bone density, yes — your dentist confirms candidacy during consultation.
What are the risks of dental implant surgery?
Infection, implant failure to fuse (uncommon), nerve/sinus complications depending on jaw position, and prolonged healing in smokers or people with uncontrolled health conditions.
What is the recovery time after dental implant surgery?
Initial soreness resolves within a week; full osseointegration takes 3–6 months.
Are dental implants painful?
No. With our painless dentistry protocol and advanced anesthesia techniques, dental implant placement is comfortable, and most patients return to their normal routine the next day.

How much does a dental implant cost in Egypt?
At Vienna Dental Clinic a complete dental implant costs 15,000 EGP with a Korean implant or 18,000 EGP with a Swiss implant. The final plan is confirmed after a diagnostic examination (400 EGP).
Reviewed by Dr. Ahmed Khaled
How long does the implant process take?
Implant placement itself takes about 30–60 minutes per tooth. Full healing and final crown placement typically take 3–6 months, depending on bone quality — we plan every case digitally with 3D imaging before we start.

How much do braces cost at Vienna Dental Clinic?
Metal braces cost 30,000 EGP for the full mouth or 15,000 EGP per arch. Clear aligners cost 60,000 EGP for the full mouth. Your orthodontist confirms the right option after examination.
Reviewed by Dr. Amr El Anany
Are clear aligners as effective as metal braces?
For most mild-to-moderate cases, yes — clear aligners move teeth just as predictably while being nearly invisible and removable for eating and brushing. Complex cases may still benefit from traditional braces; we advise honestly after diagnosis.

Is a knocked-out tooth always an emergency?
Yes — the sooner you're seen, ideally within 30 minutes, the better the chance of saving the natural tooth.
Is root canal treatment painful?
Modern root canal treatment relieves pain rather than causing it. With our anesthesia protocol the procedure itself is comfortable, and it costs 3,000 EGP per tooth at our clinic.

Is fluoride treatment safe for kids?
Yes — a carefully controlled amount, well within safe limits, and one of the most effective cavity-prevention tools available.

Genuinely common — our approach is built around it: kid-friendly explanations, going at their pace, never forcing a struggling visit.

How often should kids get checkups?
Generally every six months, same as adults, though your dentist may recommend otherwise based on your child's needs.
Do baby teeth really need treatment if they're going to fall out anyway?
Yes — untreated cavities cause pain and infection, and baby teeth hold space for adult teeth coming in behind them.
